The Retreat Center was opened in March, 2000 and is dedicated to the memory of our founders, Grace and Ivan Cooke. Surrounded by lakes, forest and wildlife the Center is a peaceful place situated on seventy-six wooded acres, fifty miles north of Houston, Texas.
The cost of retreats includes shared accommodations, meals and all retreat sessions. The commuter rate however, is $75.00 per day. These rates are in place through May 2010. Usually retreats begin with supper on the first day followed by a brief orientation. A closing ceremony is generally held on the last day followed by lunch and departure.
Please note: Private room requests when available are billed at an additional $10 per day.
In keeping with our philosophy of reverence toward all life, the Center serves vegetarian meals which may include dairy and egg products.
Retreats are designed to be a complete break from the normal life style - there are no TV's, radios or newspapers here at Saint Johns. We suggest limited use of cell phones and lap tops. The peace and beauty of the surroundings allow visitors to leave the stress of modern life behind and simply be in the healing quiet of nature. We strive to create and maintain an environment of peace and healing for all.
Unity and brotherhood are the basis of the path of White Eagle. The Church of Saint John is an international interfaith church which honors all spiritual paths. Morning meditations and noon healing services are open to guests and spiritual counseling is available by appointment.
